This position is located in Management Directorate, Offiec of Information Technology, Identity, Records and National Security As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist, Branch Chief, you will oversee the requirements identification, development, implementation and management of information technology (IT) systems to support business requirements for the USCIS enterprise.

Duties

Providing technical and administrative supervision to staff who support and analyze technology programs and applications. Coordinating with organizational peers and leaders to establish unit priorities, policies, objectives, and long-range plans Managing major components of complex programs and their support functions ensuring priorities of Agency are carried out in a timely manner. Promoting a culture of innovation and developing technical road maps which drive efficiency and technology advancement. Overseeing the development, implementation and management of business requirements for information technology (IT) systems. Representing the organization in working groups that focus on technical implementation of complex immigration regulations.

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 01/24/2025. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 01/24/2025. Basic Requirements: All applicants must meet the following basic requirements. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. GS-15: You qualify at the GS-15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Planning, implementing, and managing problem management and monitoring systems designed to recognize, report, track and resolve enterprise level problems. Developing and updating customer support policies and procedures supporting enterprise level IT platforms, applications, and securities. Analyzing and implementing network and application security measures based on analysis of monitoring tools and data Evaluating changes needed to the network based on new application and security technologies or threats and developing solutions. Reviewing, formulating, and evaluating network and security incident response policies, and participating in analysis and review of after-action reports. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer service.
