Qualifications
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level defined as assisting with coordination, tracking, and documentation of travel activities for an organization; reviewing and interpreting operational policies and procedures related to organizational travel activities; and reviewing travel authorizations and travel vouchers for accuracy.
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level defined as utilizing visual management and process improvement tools to coordinate, track, and document travel plans for an organization; reviewing and interpreting operational policies and procedures related to organizational travel activities; and auditing and tracking travel authorizations and travel vouchers to ensure accuracy and policy compliance.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Ability to manage program travel activities.
Ability to direct a team to meet demands of advance scheduling and travel coordination.
Skill in developing new methods and approaches to evaluate a travel program.
Ability to apply problem-solving techniques to travel processes and systems.
Knowledge of Agency and federal travel policies, procedures, and regulations.
Skill in oral communication.
Ability to track and analyze program travel data measure accuracy and compliance.
Skill in written communication.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
