Duties
You will support a manufacturing organization.
You will perform work in support of qualification, pre-production, lot acceptance, surveillance testing, experimentation, and
malfunction investigations.
You will assist in the design of experimental components and configuration, purchasing or coordination of fabrication of necessary components established during the design phase.
You will assist in ensuring successful movement and inventory of explosives identified for test series.
You will gather required equipment, tooling, and materials and perform necessary explosive and non-explosive assembly tasks.
You will review, monitor, and assist in preparing cost estimates, test plans, and similar documentation.
You will work with senior technician to review test results and recommend conclusions and recommendations to improve test experiments or correct problems.
You will conduct non-routine testing and evaluation and assist in designing new test instrumentation and procedure development.
You will perform applicable preventative maintenance, calibration, certifications, and testing of all processes, equipment, instrumentation, facilities, and ancillary equipment used during operations.
You will be required to report to the duty location advertised in the announcement on a regular and reoccurring basis. Occasional telework options may be available.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require occasional travel from normal duty station to CONUS.
Qualifications
NT-02:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-01 (GS-01 to GS-04 equivalency) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector reading and interpreting technical drawings, diagrams, or specifications to perform technical engineering work for an explosive manufacturing program.

Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
FOR THE NT-02:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (a) with major study in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology; or (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as engineering, engineering or industrial technology, construction, physics, drafting, surveying, physical science, or mathematics.
OR
A combination of experience and post high school education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
