This position is located in the Regional Office where the incumbent serves as the Regional Information Management Director/Geospatial Services Group Leader. The incumbent is responsible for leading the Information Management, Remote Sensing, GIS/Photogrammetry, Cartographic, and Infra programs.

Collaborate with internal and external partners on issues relating information management or mapping sciences.
Develop and communicate plans and proposals to address complex issues affecting the program.

Requirements

Basic Requirement:
GS-14
For 0401
Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
For 1301
Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
Or Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
Specialized Experience:
For the GS-14: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience is 3 or more of the following:
Served as an expert in the field of information management or geospatial science; and/or Consulted and advised decision makers for information management projects and decisions; and/or Collaborated with leaders and external stakeholders to establish natural resources research program vision and build coalitions locally, regionally, or nationwide; and/or built strategic alliances with other agencies and organizations to enhance delivery of programs, science, and information related to forest management.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
