This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), St. Louis Division.
This position(s) primary purpose is to conduct research and analysis, perform database searches and data collection, and provide administrative controls within the respective functional area.
Duties
As a Program Support Assistant (OA), your typical work assignments may include:
Conducting research, evaluating and validating specific data for use in complex reports and studies authored by others.
Establishing protocols for incoming data, organizes computerized data sets, and retrieves computerized data
Arranging meetings by reserving the space, setting the time, and contacting the individuals expected to attend.
Establishing suspense log for Freedom of Information Act requests; collecting data from appropriate staff offices on which to base response; and preparing final reply based on information obtained.

- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Employment is subject to the successful completion of a background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the required qualification requirements described below by the closing of this announcement. If you are qualifying based on education or if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcript with your application.
You may qualify at the GS-07 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector, which demonstrates experience performing:1) Assisting with providing support with planning, reviewing and reporting data/statistical results from program or project studies; 2) Providing assistance with office operations for an organization; 3) Integrating several types of software to generate detailed working documents and forms; and 4) Generating unique queries by extracting data from a broad range of automated systems.
You may qualify at the GS-08 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector, which demonstrates experience performing: 1) Providing support with planning, reviewing and reporting data/statistical results from program or project studies; 2) Providing office automation advice, guidance and assistance to a staff; 3) Recommending improvements to technical and clerical program processes; and 4) Maintaining automated system of program-specific data to track status on items.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
