About the Position: This is a Materials Handler (Motor Vehicle Operator/ Forklift Operator), WG-6907-06 position in Fort Detrick, Maryland

Duties

Receives all incoming property book items for the hand receipt holders and acquisition personnel. Assists in the distribution of items. Plan workload upon estimated delivery date, updates files, and processes receipts. Manages warehouse to include the facility, forklift, scooter, office equipment and material handling equipment. Operates a forklift with up to a 6,000-pound capacity to load, unload, and store bulky items.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• Must be able to obtain a government operator's license to operate motor vehicles and forklifts in order to assist in pick-up and delivery of property book items.
• Personal protective equipment/clothing such as steel-toed shoes and gloves is required during some operations.

Working Conditions: Most work is performed indoors in the property book warehouse that is well lighted, heated, and clean; however, this area may be occasionally drafty and noisy.
