About the Position: The principal purposes of this position are to perform complex technical engineering work for a wide variety of base development projects and to monitor the performance of contractors in their conduct of base operations and maintenance functions.

Duties

Perform studies of special projects to ascertain or to verify the most effective economical method of construction. Projects include (a) new construction, (b) unusual work projects, (c) changes to existing contracts and other required work projects. Evaluate facility design materials and operation methods to eliminate potential problem areas. Review all facets of projects, which include modifications, alterations, additions, repairs to buildings and other construction, electrical systems, heating systems, air-conditioning, plumbing and refrigeration systems. Visit job sites to perform diagnostic inspections on facilities, structures, and related electrical and mechanical systems and equipment. Monitor the performance of contractors in their conduct of base operations and maintenance functions.
