This position is located at Outdoor Recreation on Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

Up to 25% relocation, recruitment and/or retention incentive may be authorized.
Eligible for 1.49% COLA.
Duties
Demonstrates techniques and instructs participants in the use of equipment.
Plans, schedules, organizes and implements outdoor activities. Such activities include but are not limited to cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, etc.
Coordinates with installation, county, and state officials on programs and information related to outdoor recreation and required licenses.
Researches, plans and develops or enlarges outdoor recreation areas.
Requirements

- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
Qualifications
Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups. Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience.

Highly Preferred: Candidates that possess highly preferred criteria and meet the minimum qualifications above will be referred to the hiring manager first. Criteria is verified within the application package.
Possess a current Wilderness First Responder Certification.
Possess experience facilitating outdoor adventure programming in cold weather climates.
Possess experience teaching outdoor recreation, safety, and awareness curriculum.
Possess experience with maintaining high ropes adventure course or top rope climbing.
Education
This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
