This position is located at Community Activity Center on Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Up to 25% relocation, recruitment and/or retention incentive may be authorized. Eligible for 1.49% COLA. Duties

Organizes, plans, and evaluate community programs that reflect community interests. Works in executing community-wide recreation events, programs and services to meet the diversified needs of the community, including a variety multi disciplinary events Recommends items if supplies, materials, prizes, decorations, refreshments, and equipment needed for program functions. Assures that proper security measures are taken to safeguard monies, property, equipment and facility. Assists with other recreation programs in the Recreation Center as needed.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
• Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups. Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience. *If qualifying based on education, transcripts must be uploaded at the time of application for verification purposes.
