This position is located in the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) in the Logistics Department under the direct supervision of the Facility Chief Logistics Officer. The incumbent will process VAPHS internal customer orders for production photocopying services and will also provide clerical and administrative support to the Logistics supervisors and employees. The incumbent may be required to work at either of the VAPHS sites, as required.
Duties
The major duties of this position include but are not limited to:
Program Support
Supporting, Scheduling and Registering vendors for appointments
Operating as the Logistics point of contact.
Reviewing and processing internal customer orders.
Establishing and maintaining files.
Following up on action items.
Submitting data in a timely manner in accordance with office procedures.
Office Support
Providing a variety of clerical and administrative support to the Logistics supervisors and staff, resolve problems, as well as, coordinating with other service lines.
Using office automation equipment to compose and type a variety of correspondence.
Using different software programs.
Receiving calls, greeting visitors, and referring to appropriate office or staff member.
Maintains calendars, schedules, and meetings.
Receives, routes, and distributes all incoming mail.
Monitors and orders office equipment and supplies.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
Operates a variety of equipment including copiers, offset press, paper cutter, binding machine and plate maker.
Sets up, operates, adjusts and monitors the operation of single or multiple function equipment.
Diagnoses equipment malfunctions, operating problems and performs corrective adjustments.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/15/2025.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the following: One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level in the Federal service that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this Supervisory Supply Technician (Medical) position. Specialized experience includes: Performing administrative and clerical processes according to policies or procedures, processing forms, scheduling, maintaining files, mail distribution, creating and editing files such as spreadsheets and databases, effectively communicating with customers both verbally and in writing, paying attention to the proper grammar and spelling, using of a variety of software, and using computers, printers and scanners.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; or driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
