This position is located in the Medical Staff Office at the Quentin N. Burdick Memorial Health Care Facility in Belcourt, ND. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a wide variety of administrative tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the work performed within the organization. The incumbent of this position reports to the Supervisory Physician (Clinical Director).
Duties
Receives telephone calls and visitors, ascertains the nature of requests, and selects inquiries which can be personally answered, directs callers to the supervisor or appropriate staff, and takes messages.
Responsible for preparing the Medical Staff schedules a month in advance and distributes to the appropriate departments.
Reviews outgoing correspondence and documents prepared for supervisor's signature for proper format.
Timekeeper duties for personnel under the direct supervision of the Clinical Director are required.
Maintains Medical Staff meeting schedule; attends department meetings; takes precise meeting minutes and distributes to the appropriate office.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
Specialized Experience - Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants who have the 1 year of appropriate specialized experience, as indicated in the table, are not required by this standard to have general experience, education above the high school level, or any additional specialized experience to meet the minimum qualification requirements.
GS-05: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level or four (4) years above high school.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Basic knowledge of administrative processes such as creating a variety of correspondence in proper formats using word processing programs; maintain manual and electronic calendars to add, delete or change meetings; service as a receptionist or point-of-contact for an office; experience maintain electronic and hard copy files; experience inputting data into an automated timekeeping system; input data into an electronic database for procurement of equipment and supplies.
GS-06: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Advanced knowledge of two or more administrative processes such as time keeping; preparing records for processing and billing in an Electronic Health Record system; Knowledge of office protocol to maintain electronic records; scheduling for upper management using electronic calendars; respond to complaints from the public; compile information from a variety of sources to prepare reports; prepare and submit supply requisitions according to established rules.
GS-07: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Knowledge in credentialing and privileging, professional licensing boards, and accreditation standards. Process applications and background information for medical staff personnel ensuring compliance with healthcare policy and practices. Maintain files, records, recruiting activities and correspondence for providers. Initiate procedures for verification and authenticating licenses and certificates for ancillary personnel within the organization, to include contract personnel. Coordinate travel and meeting arrangements.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
