About the position: This position will be assigned to the 47th Force Support Squadron, located at the Losano Fitness Center on Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, Texas.
This position is Flexible category, guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours but can work up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. May include nights, weekends and holidays. As a flexible employee, you are not eligible for leave or benefits.
Duties
Scorekeeper for Intramural Team Sports which may include: Flag Football, Basketball, Softball, Soccer and Volleyball. Work under the supervision of the Fitness Center Director and the Sports Director. Scorekeeping is a seasonal employment opportunity. The Intramural Sports Scorekeeper operates score clocks and /or keep accurate records and score of those contests sponsored by the Fitness and Sports Center, in accordance with the rules of the sport and the regulations of the fitness center. The scorekeeper is charged with the responsibility of maintaining correct scores and timed sports events. Submit to periodic evaluations, written or practical, Obtain necessary equipment and score sheets when reporting to work and checking in with supervisor; and must return the equipment at the conclusion of each session. Fulfill schedule obligations. Arrive at the court/field prior to scheduled game time no later than 15 minutes before game time. Ensure that game equipment functions properly and that games are played under safe conditions; report the need for facility or equipment repairs to the sports director or employee on duty.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Interest in Sports and Recreation, current knowledge of sport rules or willingness to learn scorekeeping protocol of sports, good decision-making skills, and good interpersonal skills. Scorekeepers need to be mature and honest, have a positive attitude.
Satisfactorily completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is required.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
