About the Position: Serve as Chief of the Joint Data Branch in the Warfighter and Futures Integration Division of the DEVCOM Analysis Center.
Duties
Serve as Chief of the Joint Data Branch in the Warfighter and Futures Integration Division of the DEVCOM Analysis Center.
Represent the organization on inter-agency working groups, Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), Integrated Product/Project Teams (IPTs), and forums.
Lead the development and execution of the DEVCOM Analysis Center's data strategy.
Identify short- and long- term requirements for hardware and software to support Modeling and Simulation data management and systems performance characterization.
Identify where program or personnel adjustments are needed to meet mission goals.
Use rigorous methods of scientific inquiry and analysis to analyze problems and provide advice and solutions.
Oversee projects and programs, identifying and shaping the goals of the Joint Data Branch.
Responsible for managing the professional and technical work of the Joint Data Branch.
Make decisions on work problems and administrative proposals to meet mission goals.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 5 - Special Sensitive (High Risk) security clearance Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug test screening and random drug testing after that.
- This position may require the incumbent to travel up to 20 percent of the time.
- This appointment is subject to completion of a 3-year trial period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements.
- A 2-year supervisory probationary period to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position requires you to submit a Confidential Disclosure Report (OGE-450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

Basic Requirement for OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST - 1515
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized experience:
To qualify, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as;
(1) Oversee programs or projects in the area of modeling and simulation data management covering areas such as collection, storage, security, governance, lifecycle management, or standardization;
(2) Provide technical guidance on modeling and simulation data management strategies; and
(3) Supervise or lead a team in the area of modeling and simulation data management.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower pay band/grade level position in the federal service (DB-03/GS-13).
Education
