This position will be assigned to the Grizzly Bend.
This position is considered regular full-time. You are guaranteed 35 hours, however could work up to 40 hours per week. As a regular employee, you are eligible to earn leave and other NAF benefits.
Physical Effort: Continual standing, walking, & frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, & bending. Frequently lifts or moves objects weighing up to 40 pounds, & occasionally lifts or moves objects.
Position is subject to an uncommon duty.
Duties
Supervises the economic and efficient operation of the Grizzly Bend Food and Beverage Operation.
Directs and supervises the day-to-day operation which provides food and beverage, and bar services.
Communicates the policies and objectives of management to supervisory and non-supervisory employees.
Responsible for the quality and quantity of work produced by employees, working within budget.
Makes decision or recommendations regarding the expenditure of resources.
Performs all related support duties required to maintain an efficient, profitable food and beverage operation including hiring, training, and scheduling staff, ordering food supplies, stocking inventory, food handling, and catering.
Responsible for the operation's cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with AF health and safety regulations.
Ensures that the appropriate quantities of foods, beverages, and supplies are ordered and received in accordance with AF instructions.
Plans menus for regular meals, and special functions.
Prepares a wide variety of items in support of tournaments, special events and regular meals.
Supervises Food and Beverage Staff.
Schedules and trains appropriately for daily requirements and special functions.
Initiates personnel actions to include hiring, promotions, awards, and performance evaluations.
Initiates disciplinary or performance based actions after coordinating with the Non Appropriated Fund (NAF) Human Resource Officer (HRO).
Takes action on employee leave request.
Maintains employee 971 files as well as required training and other administrative documentation.
Counsels employees and resolves concerns and grievances in coordination with NAF HRO.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Works under supervision of the Grizzly Bend Manager.
Position is a position of trust.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
- This position is subject to working an uncommon tour of duty to include nights, weekends, holidays and special events.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have at least two years experience that demonstrates knowledge of managing a high traffic food service operation.
Applicant must have specific experience in concession operations in all of the following areas: Catering, food ordering, procurement, delivery, presentation, customer service, inventory control, budgeting, cash handling and supervision.
Applicant must be able to demonstrate verbal, interpersonal, customer service and public relation skills.
Applicant must have the ability to schedule, train and motivate staff and have the ability to work effectively with individuals or groups to accomplish work/tasks.
Must have knowledge in food preparation principles, characteristics of food and of planning processes to ensure entire meals are prepared.
Must be able to perform Yield Testing to determine portion cost and to adjust ingredients in standardized recipes.
One year experience in all qualifications listed above will be accepted with a degree in Food and Beverage Management.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position DOES allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
