Duties

Plan, direct, manage, evaluate, develop an organizational and conceptual leadership to a clinical psychology training program. Provide training, direction and instruction to nurse providers, certified/licensed and unlicensed counselors, psychology interns, psychiatry residents, and paraprofessionals. Provide professional oversight of training in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Conduct peer supervision and review of records Evaluate and revise standard operating procedures Conduct program evaluation. Review data provided in reports of special actions. Evaluate and approve educational packet.

Requirements

• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
• The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
• Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
• The employee must be licensed and maintain a license for independent practice as a clinical psychologist in a U.S. State, commonwealth, or territory.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing psychological evaluations, developing behavioral health treatment plans, and providing psychological counseling services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. License: The Clinical Psychologist position requires a current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction.
