You will serve as an Assistant Human Resources Director in the Human Resources Office Southwest of COMPACFLT HRO SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will plan, organize, develop, and administer an effective civilian human resources program. You will provide immediate and long-range, workforce planning and initiatives in support of HRO SW’s mission, goals and objectives. You will formulate long-term budget strategies and recommendations to meet HRO goals and objectives. You will develop internal policies and programs guidance for HRO SW operations and keeps abreast of higher level updates. You will engage with senior leadership throughout serviced commands and provides strategic advice on high level initiatives by participating in continuous and/or ad hoc meetings. You will provide authoritative advice, guidance, and direction to senior management officials on complicated civilian HR issues. You will oversee 34 staff members through subordinate supervisors. You will plan and assigns work, set priorities, advise employees on program goals and objectives, and makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector executing, directing, or managing the delivery of civilian federal human resources (HR) services involving one or more of the following functions: staffing and recruitment, position classification, compensation, labor relations, employee relations, oversight of automated personnel information systems, or employee development; ensuring compliance with governing laws and regulations; developing, interpreting, or advising senior management on human resource policies and administration; or providing input for the strategic planning of human capital resources for an organization.
