About the Position: Key staff assistant to, and representative of, the Institutional Training (TRI) Division Chief (Colonel), Training Directorate. Responsible for assisting the Division Chief in the development, implementation, monitoring and execution of leader development policies for all cohorts in the Army's institutional training policies in the Army's five levels of military education and leader development.
Duties
Serve as a principal source of advice within the G-3/5/7 Training Directorate on matters relating to Institutional Training (TRI)
Prepare and present reports and briefings on program status and execution including planned improvement actions and tracking operational risk to key leadership.
Research and interpret policy guidance and other legal/administrative issuances.
Provide oversight of and/or execute the Leader Development Management process through planning and execution of major leader development forum.
Initiate pilot programs, legislative proposals, special studies, and the issuance of new or revised policies with other actions to assure that G-3/5/7 Training Directorate maintains viable and effective Institutional Training programs
Provide written clarification or interpretation to policy and regulatory questions.
Prepare reports that include study analysis, findings and recommendations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance.

- Travel Required: Up to 10% Business Travel may be required.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising senior management on leadership development policies: reviewing program budget and/or funding to plan leadership development; and developing procedures for leadership program evaluation and/or effectiveness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
