Duties
Provides guidance and support to the Forests with the management of natural resources software, programs, and applications for corporate databases and has the technical ability to write database queries.
Provides input on development and deployment efforts for corporate and Geographic Information System (GIS) applications and provides training to Forest and District personnel to assure accurate and timely submission of data.

Responsible for migrating the existing “legacy” data into the associated national database.
Applies project management processes, tools, and techniques, for the successful completion of project and program objectives.
Ensures the integration of data from databases of current systems are accurately transitioned to new corporate databases.
Requirements

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirement: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as 3 or more of the following: assisting with the development of database projects to include: editing/building and modifying data layers, data dictionaries, data models and metadata for multi-disciplinary information and geospatial applications; assisting higher level specialists with the manipulation and analysis of geospatial data linking a variety of resources; working with higher level specialists to create thematic map products and presentation materials using established automated map and chart making processes; using ArcGIS Platform (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Mobile, ArcGIS SDE, ArcGIS online) to inform and empower the public and decision makers; supporting of various additional database programs including, but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL, My SQL.

TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
