The MyHeatheVet (MHV) Program Support Assistant serves as facility champion and leads facility teams to support existing and future Veteran communication initiatives, and coordinates local implementation, training, communications, outreach, web health content and support efforts.

Duties

My HealtheVet (MHV) is a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) sponsored website for Veterans, their families, advocates, and VA employees. MHV is a web-based application designed for Veterans and their families with the goal of optimizing Veterans' healthcare. Through MHV, Veterans can build their own Personal Health Record by self-entering personal and health-related information, as well as their health readings. MHV online prescription refill is available to all Veterans receiving medications at Veterans Affairs Medical Centers/Healthcare System (VAMC/HCS), and MHV provides one central location for obtaining information about VA benefits, programs, and services. Secure Messaging (SM) through MHV is a secure Web-based message service that allows the healthcare team to communicate non-urgent health related information with patients and will fundamentally change the way Veterans manage their health care as well as improve the patient-provider relationship. The MHV Program Support Assistant plans, organizes drives, directs, evaluates, and reports local MHV-related actions/activities. Duties include but are not limited to: Plans, organizes drives, directs, evaluates, and reports local MHV-related actions/activities Assists in developing refining, maintaining and documenting MHV internal control policies and procedures Collects, develops and documents data for facility operational decisions Initiates telephonic contact with Veterans for program enrollment Assists with the development and implementation of multi-media marketing campaign materials Coordinates and obtains clearances for release of information Provides training to volunteers and patients to promote awareness of and to participate in My HealtheVet, VA Blue Button, and Secure Messaging Functions as a liaison to identify and communicate local related training needs Assists in the planning, reviewing, and reporting of results from program studies Implements nationally standardized protocols for incoming data, organizes and maintains data, and retrieves a variety of computerized data Operates web-based software for program and other databases for VISN office Operates equipment to assist in troubleshooting problems for patients and staff, answers questions and supports the telehealth team Gives oral presentations with handouts and visual materials to encourage utilization of the service and anticipated benefits Establishes and maintains inventory of all assigned computers and MyHealtheVet equipment including purchased and leased equipment Serves as a consultant for all aspects of facility MyHealtheVet use, including facilitating staff training, pilot testing and implementing and installing equipment, and multi-site coordination and problem resolution Performs other related duties as assigned Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/10/2025. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: providing administrative support; collecting, compiling and tracking data and information; processing documents and reports; establishing, updating and maintaining office files and records; interpreting public laws, regulations, manuals, and directives as it relates to determining if requirements are met; operating standard office equipment and computer software; processing enrollment for applications; reviewing applications for accuracy, and adhering to the set time limits; communicate with customers from diverse backgrounds orally and in writing. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: AccountabilityAdministration and ManagementTeamworkTechnology Application Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary, but may require periods of standing during presentations, briefings, speeches, health fair activities, etc. although some slight physical effort may be required. Education

As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.
