This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA ???Domestic DIB & MRTFB in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois.

Duties

Develops training plans based on approved training courses and regulatory requirements and supervises necessary training for guard personnel in the use of weapons, protection against espionage, sabotage, and other organized subversive actions. Plans and coordinates the activities of a guard force shift, to ensure the maintenance of physical security standards. Receives and reviews daily reports from subordinates and ensures the correction of reported irregularities. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. Perform supervisory and administrative duties relating to the security guard force. Serve as a Shift Supervisor for the Security Guard force assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at IMCOM supported installation.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• In Accordance with Army Regulation 600-85, a DA Form 5019R Condition of Employment must be assigned for mandatory drug testing. Individual agrees to submit to a urinalysis on a recurring basis, in accordance with AR 600-85.
• Shift work is required, or a change in work shift may be necessary. Hours of work encompass fluctuating tours of duty to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Incumbent must undergo and pass annual medical exams of physical, emotional and mental stability.
• Incumbent must successfully complete CPR certification and First Aid training.
• Incumbent may be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton.
• Incumbent will be required to pass entry level and annual re-certification of standard Army physical fitness/agility test.
• Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.
• This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
