The incumbent of this position will work a flexitime work schedule.
This is a supervisory, non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
The incumbent is responsible for supervising, scheduling, and directing the Reader Registration team. Under the guidance of the Head, Access Services, and in cooperation with other Division managers and supervisors, the incumbent shares overall responsibility for administering, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and activities which deal directly with the provision of high-quality service to the various users of the Library's general and other collections as assigned, and protecting the integrity of the collections, especially through effective management of reader registration accounts. Directs staff in providing services based on an excellent knowledge of constituent service issues, an understanding of automation and the various databases employed in establishing and managing accounts and an understanding of the depth and variety of the collections. Ensures that staff members are thoroughly trained in Library and Division practices and policies to ensure collections security and recommends changes in procedures, workflows, and tools. Regularly explains technical information to individuals or groups.
Qualifications
Applicants must have had progressively responsible experience and training sufficient in scope and quality to furnish them with an acceptable level of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position without more than normal supervision.Ability to lead a diverse workforce.**Ability to perform administrative management functions. **Ability to interact collaboratively with others exercising judgment and discretion in order to provide customer services. **Administers Reader Registration.Ability to plan and manage special projects and programs. Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.
