You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST for the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Disaster Recovery & Resilience (ODR&R), Field Operations Center East. This position provides services to the Operations Manager in the planning, directing, managing, coordinating and evaluating the damage assessment/loss verification functions within the Continental United States (CONUS) and outside the Continental United States and its territories (OCONUS).
Duties
As a/an SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST at the GS-2210-13, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Supervises a technical staff of IT Specialists that support multiple projects for networking and a virtual server environment with grade levels ranging from GS-09 to GS-12.
Ensure Center preparedness by acquiring, maintaining, and supporting response equipment and staff. Provides technical guidance to Center program offices about Agency-wide standards for IT matters.
Coordinate other IT systems' needs (equipment, infrastructure, and applications) for the support functions within ODR&R.
Ensures computer security is applied following regulations and directives and that standard automation security procedures and protocols governing computer operations are developed and promulgated.

This is a Permanentappointment in the Competitive service with a full-time work schedule.
If required to travel to a disaster site, you may encounter hazardous working and/or living conditions, for example, no water or electricity and/or minimal lodging facilities.

Basic Requirements
This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience.
Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, you must also meet the specialized experience requirements listed below.
Specialized Experience:
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT.
To receive credit, you must indicate the month and year as well as the average hours worked per week for each employer. Average work hours must be stated on the resume to quantify each period of work experience or that experience will not be credited toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.
You must address the specific specialized experience required for each grade level of this position on your resume or application or you will be rated "Ineligible" for that grade level. GS-13: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector:
Leading or supervising a diverse staff in the day-to-day operations of an organization or office to achieve goals and objectives; AND
Deploying and supporting technology-related equipment to disaster sites; AND
Defining the system interrelationships, operating mode, system software, and equipment configuration; AND
Interpreting and applying IT security controls for an organization.
