Duties
You will serve as a IT Specialist (INFOSEC) in the NC3-N Workcenter, Cyber Forensics Division, Office of the Commanding Officer at Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command (NCDOC).
You will analyze network forensic missions, functions and tasks as the Cyber Security Architect subject matter expert in the Cyber Forensic Division, with the mission for detecting and preventing cyber exploits.
You will lead the efforts to determine cyber exploit tactics, techniques and procedures for implementing the appropriate countermeasures.
You will identify systemic and application-specific security threats to tactical and administrative systems.
You will approve the development of all defensive countermeasures to ensure proactive mitigation while sustaining the highest level of network readiness.
You will identify needs and collaborate with analysts, engineers and customers to determine the data needed to address cyber security problems.
You will create detailed analysis of Navy network incident data for reportable significance and oversees analytical executive level reporting.
You will provide direction for the development of standard procedures and automated processes for implementing solutions on the Navy's networks.
Requirements

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 511, proficiency level INTERMEDIATE the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled by demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
1- Attention to Detail- Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Creating detailed analysis of network incident data for reportable significance.
2- Customer Service- Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Collaborating with analysts, engineers and customers to determine the data needed to address cyber security problems.
3- Oral Communication- Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Preparing and presenting briefs to senior management personnel on complex and controversial issues.
4- Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Utilizing IT related security systems to identify, evaluate, mitigate and minimize risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have qualifying experience such as:
-Experience identifying systemic and application-specific security threats to tactical and administrative systems and approving the development of all defensive countermeasures ensuring proactive mitigation while sustaining the highest level of network readiness.
-Experience analyzing network forensic missions, functions and tasks as a Cyber Security Analyst subject matter expert in a Cyber Forensic Division, with the mission of detecting and preventing cyber exploits.
-Experience utilizing security systems that identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with IT system vulnerabilities.
-Experience communicating complex technical information in a well-organized, coherent method and articulate well enough to defend the conclusions.
