As an Operations Research Analyst responsible for managing various projects focused on business analytics for Aviation Safety, Air Traffic Safety Oversight Service (AOV), Air Traffic Safety Standards Oversight Division (AOV-100) in the Research and Analysis Branch (AOV-150). Supports management in a full range of activities surrounding management of National Airspace System (NAS) oversight information and applicable standards, proposing, and initiating continual improvements.

Duties

The Operations Research Analyst applies experience and comprehensive knowledge in statistical and mathematical methods to analyze business processes and identify and develop solutions to operational problems using interrelated, interacting, or interdependent for different systems. Updates the work process trackers in AVO's SharePoint network to support AOV work processes by performing periodic reviews and verifying data provided through the internal stakeholder feedback process in accordance with organizational procedures.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.To qualify for this position at the J-band: you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS- 13 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience includes: Experience using mathematical modeling to forecast the performance and reliability of systems. Experience interpreting and manipulating data into communication materials to use as visualizations, presentations, and quick guides.
