You will serve as an Interdisciplinary Engineer/Scientist in the Airborne Instrumentations Systems Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.
Duties
You will facilitate rapid-prototyping and development from ideation, analysis, modeling and simulation, prototyping, testing, to small-scale production enabling new technologies or novel solutions to current and future real-world challenges.
You will develop roadmaps to invest, develop, and mature technologies to meet current and future requirements.
You will be responsible for identifying infrastructure needs within the division and building relationships with investment managers.
You will work to transition developments and investments into new production capabilities and long-term end-game solutions.
You will proactively identify, assess, and process Test and Evaluation requirements and develop investments to meet such national security/defense strategies on a continuous basis.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band (DP-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Planning, analyzing, and evaluating engineering and technical efforts used to define total range system/subsystem requirements; 2) Translating requirements into advisement and actionable plans; 3) Managing the functional engineering project support and resources for range systems research and development, technical application, specification, acquisition, and implementation; and 4) Demonstrating an advanced knowledge of open-air ranges and previous customer requirements documentation.

For 08XX:
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.

A. Degree: mathematics; or the equivalent of a major that included at least 24 semester hours in mathematics.

B. Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in mathematics (including at least 24 semester hours in mathematics), as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
The total course work in either A or B above must have included differential and integral calculus and, in addition, four advanced mathematics courses requiring calculus or equivalent mathematics courses as a prerequisite.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
