You will serve as the Site Safety Manager in Public Works Department Maine, of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Atlantic.
Duties
You will review Safety Management System objectives to identify and correct deficiencies in established programs
You will track hazard abatement actions in automated systems.
You will implement mishap prevention measures according to regulations and safety standards.
You will develop mishap reporting and investigation guidance for proper completion of assignments by personnel.
You will conduct risk management studies on operations or exercises to assist others with risk management safety decisions.
Requirements

- This position may require occasional travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
- You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes when making site visits, as determined by site conditions and applicable safety regulations.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Assessing a variety of broad and complex work problems and communicating clearly with multiple levels to provide activities/commands with reliable solutions and schedules for their completion; 2) Applying knowledge/experience with a variety of facilities and utilities systems, including the operational characteristics and related trade skills associated with power plants, mechanical and electrical substations, dry docks, and pump wells; 3) Planning and carrying out work independently, coordinating with others as required, anticipating problems prior to their occurrence and solving problems when they do occur; and 4) Maintaining high situational awareness of critical issues for an industrial or public works department work environment with respect to ongoing facility issues, major utility outages, and other high visibility work issues..
