Duties

Analyze various accounting system pay statistical reports to identify specific problems and trends. Assists resource management personnel in the resolution of a wide variety of issues related to financial management and fund control. Reconciles Accounting Service and other reports on a daily or weekly basis in order to provide proper pay to employees. Provide assistance to employees, supervisors and personnel specialists on rules, regulations and procedures relating to pay. Provides initial and periodic refresher training to employees who have been assigned timekeeping duties. Responds to routine and occasional non-routine verbal and written pay and leave inquiries from employees.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) Approximately 5% of the time
  • May be required to serve a 1-year probationary period.
  • Financial Management Certification 2 (FMC-02) required within 24 months of appointment.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Concepts, Policies, and Principles of PayrollCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Fundamentals and Operations of Military and Civilian Pay Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
