Duties

Serve as a technical authority on civilian employee payroll accounts. Establish routine, special timelines and cutoff schedules to assure timely transmission of data to meet Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) computer schedules. Serve as installation and tenant activities Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS) coordinator. Serve as a Customer Service Representative for assigned organizations. Liaison and customer service representative.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) Approximately 5% of the time
  • May be required to serve a 1-year probationary period.
  • Financial Management Certification 2 (FMC-02) required within 24 months of appointment.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Concepts, Policies, and Principles of PayrollCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Fundamentals and Operations of Military and Civilian Pay Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
