About the Position: This position is located in the Quality Management office, Naval Hospital Jacksonville (NHJAX).

Duties

Perform duties as a program manager to include Consult, coordinate and facilitate improvement initiatives utilizing process improvement methodology to maintain processes that constantly meet or exceed accreditation requirements. Monitor various programs and activities to ensure that programs and activities are ongoing, effective, efficient, appropriately documented and integrated within the organization's related programs, and reflective of The TJC standards. Establish and maintain a repository of TJC reference material. Promulgate and distribute TJC standards and intents throughout the organization. Help determine methodologies, develop criteria and/or standards which provide a basis for identifying deficiencies while at the same time supplying data which can be utilized in completing the evaluative assessment. Serve as an evaluator and liaison for TJC issues. Oversee the dissemination of ORYX performance measures and data to appropriate departments and services.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons.
  • This position requires the incumbent to have Tuberculosis testing.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) managing the day-to-day operations of health care delivery services; 2) assisting with modifications/improvements of clinic policies and procedures; and 3) advising leadership regarding clinical operations of the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Health Policy Planning SupportHealth Systems AnalysisHealthcare Operations Administration Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
