You will serve as a SUPERVISORY HEALTH SYSTEMS SPECIALIST (PEBLO) of NMRTC JACKSONVILLE FL.
THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law 116-92 amended Section 9905 of title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) to streamline and simplify certain Department of Defense civilian Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to certain positions in the competitive service in the Department of Defense.
Duties
You will analyze, interpret and apply new and established policy and guidance, directives and instructions.
You will assist patient relations department in answering congressional inquiries regarding any aspect of DES Program operations within the allotted time.
You will provide information to various agencies on the status of all activities under his/her supervision (e.g. MEB/PEB processing, LOD management, TDRL workload accounting/medical statistical reporting, etc.).
You will generate standard and customized management reports and charts.
You will track all assigned cases, analyze performance against established metrics and analyze available data using various statistical and analytic tools.
You will identify problems and recommend changes to command policies and improvements to processes and services provided to military service members and their families.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience utilizing knowledge of the healthcare delivery system and ICD-9 classification system, medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology.
Experience utilizing knowledge of military and civilian medical organizational structure and practices along with major diseases and injuries.
Experience utilizing comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the military retirement system, including those accrued based on prior service.
Experience utilizing knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, policies and precedents related to the subject area and the administrative operations of the organization assigned.

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual, if experience not met: Applicants must possess.
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
