This position is part of the Western Area Power Administration. As a Uncrewed Aerial System (UAS) Program Specialist, you will manage the WAPA Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Program, its contracts, training, pilot certification, and administrative operations. **This is not a remote position. The selectee will be required to be physically present at one of the duty location(s) identified.**

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. GS-13: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the duties listed below: Identify and/or resolve technical operations, pilot, aircraft, equipment, qualifications, training, suitability, or safety issues; Utilize aviation administration methodologies to respond to accidents, incidents, and/or oversee investigations; Coordinate and/or conduct remote pilot training courses; Utilize acquisition or contracting rules, regulations, and/or procedures to oversee contracted operations. Time-in-Grade: Current career or career-conditional GS employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional GS employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current career or career-conditional federal employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
