This position is part of the Western Area Power Administration. As a Uncrewed Aerial System (UAS) Program Specialist, you will manage the WAPA Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Program, its contracts, training, pilot certification, and administrative operations.
**This is not a remote position. The selectee will be required to be physically present at one of the duty location(s) identified.**

As a Uncrewed Aerial System (UAS) Program Specialist, you will:
Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below.
GS-13: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the duties listed below:
Identify and/or resolve technical operations, pilot, aircraft, equipment, qualifications, training, suitability, or safety issues;
Utilize aviation administration methodologies to respond to accidents, incidents, and/or oversee investigations;
Coordinate and/or conduct remote pilot training courses;
Utilize acquisition or contracting rules, regulations, and/or procedures to oversee contracted operations.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations.
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
