These positions are located in Craters Of The Moon National Monument and Preserve, in the Division of Administration.

Duties
Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work for approximately 6 months, from late April - mid November and you will be in a non-pay status from mid November - April.
Serve as a front-line, uniformed representative of the NPS, answering visitor questions and explaining the area's recreational opportunities, including NPS interpretive services, concession operated facilities and services, campground availability, hiking trails, etc. Serve as a front-line, uniformed representative of the NPS, answering visitor questions and explaining the area's recreational opportunities, including NPS interpretive services, concession operated facilities and services, campground availability, hiking trails, etc.
Perform assignments in accordance with all NPS and U.S. Treasury regulations governing the handling of government funds.
Assist higher level personnel with auditing fee collection program components/systems (e.g. cash registers, road/trail registers, honor systems, automated fee machines or AFMs, donation boxes, etc.). Assist in completing audit paperwork and documenting findings. Communicate audit results to supervisor.
Prepare and complete remittance reports and bank deposits for funds donated and/or collected by others. Review shift reports and count funds collected; Investigate and proactively resolve routine or recurring discrepancies, and track overages, shortages, and errors.
Inventory and/or restock fee program supplies and assist with placing orders and preparing requisition requests for equipment/supplies as needed.
Qualifications
The position using this authority must be advertised and veteran's preference must be applied as with all excepted service positions. Only those individuals who have maintained a permanent exclusive residence for a minimum of two (2) years in the communities listed above can be considered. Applicants must certify that they have maintained a permanent and exclusive residence within the communities of Arco, Mackay, Howe and Carey, Idaho, and that their residency is expected to continue indefinitely by completing the Certification of Living Contiguous to the Area form prior to entrance on duty.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes: handling, tracking, or depositing monies; using software programs to maintain financial/accounting data (such as fee and stock data); performing fee collection, accounting or financial duties; using tools or equipment (e.g., cash registers, calculators, etc.) to make sales transactions; or ensuring accountability of funds and accurate financial records. You must include hours per week worked.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least 4 years of education above high school (120 semester hours or 180 quarter hours) from an accredited college or university in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. One full year of academic study is 30 semester hours. You must include transcripts.

Possession of an equivalent combination of education and experience. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement). For example, 6 months of the specialized experience (50% of the experience requirement), and 3 years of college study (50% of the qualifying education), equals 100% of the total requirement. You must include transcripts and hours per week worked.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
CTAP/ICTAP Statement: Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection.
