The position at Craters of The Moon National Park is located in the Administration Division. Open to the first 50 applicants or until 10/04/2023 whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration.

Duties

Serve as a front-line, uniformed representative of the NPS, answering visitor questions and explaining the area's recreational opportunities, including NPS interpretive services, concession operated facilities and services, campground availability, hiking trails, etc. Perform assignments in accordance with all NPS and U.S. Treasury regulations governing the handling of government funds. Operate an electronic cash register, computer, or Point of Sale (POS) system to conduct financial transactions; perform opening and closing functions; issue entrance receipts, tour tickets, permits, etc. Additional duties for GS-07: Test reservation system functionality in automated reservation systems such as Recreation.gov and report findings as appropriate. Approve or deny formal refund requests submitted by the public in the system. Additional duties for GS-07: Serve as a technical authority for the resolution of especially difficult or sensitive problems associated with the collection, remittance, and deposit of fee revenue and donations. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-10/04/2023-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include: performing fee collection, accounting or financial duties to include operating a point-of-sale system; using an automated financial system to perform accounting and/or financial transactions; ensuring accountability of funds and accurate financial record; or resolving software issues that arise in the remittance and/or fee collection process. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of one full year of graduate-level study (18 semester hours or equivalent) that directly applies to the work of the position in a field such as accounting, business, or finance. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must include transcripts. -OR- Possession of an equivalent combination of education and experience. For example, 6 months of the specialized experience (50% of the experience requirement), and 12 semester hours of graduate study from an accredited institution (75% of the qualifying education), equals greater than 100% of the total requirement. You must include hours per week worked and must include transcripts.
