You will serve as a AIRCRAFT EXAMINER (ORDNANCE SYSTEM MECHANIC) in the MRO PRODUCTION DEPT PROD LINES DIV of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Duties

You will examine inducted ejection seats, crew seats, ballistic components, and survival components. You will perform progressive evaluation of components. You will coordinate with Planner and Estimator personnel on programs designed for recovery of usable parts. You will prepare condition reports and detailed work instructions. You will identify accessories, components, assemblies, etc which may be re-installed.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION Analyze the condition of aircraft escape/survival accessories and components to determine the extent of disassembly and depth of rework. Establish work methods appropriate for escape system; perform inspections and note discrepancies found; Determine if accessories and components can be re-used. Interpret detailed specifications and technical directives; Troubleshoot escape systems; repair malfunctions, plan the repair sequence and installation of escape system.
