You will serve as a Planner and Estimator (A/C Equipment Mechanic) in the Technical Services Branch of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY.

Duties
You will prepare CAD and drawings as required to facilitate accomplishment of work by a contractor and shop personnel.
You will assist the shop and engineering personnel or other NRL Divisions where his/her experience and knowledge can be utilized relating to A/C equipment.
You will prepare detailed cost estimates for submission to the management Command in connection with projects requiring special authorization and allotment of funds by the Command.
You will estimate total man-time requirements and details labor costs by shop using engineered performance standards, means estimating, historical data, and by the application of knowledge acquired of a tradesman.
You will develop a variety of complex work for shop trades such as carpentry, air conditioning, piping, and electrical and for NRL Supply contract actions.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision: 1) Installing, maintaining or troubleshooting HVAC systems; 2) Performing control inspections in accordance with the maintenance control program as directed; 3) Estimating total man-time requirements and detailed labor costs; 4) Preparing specifications for contracts; 5) Performing inspections on station facilities HVAC and structures, including permanent towers, building super structures, waterfront structures, and sea walls; 6) Maintaining catalogs and instruction manuals to stay current with materials and trade practices; and 7) 1) Preparing sketches and detailed working drawings as directed.
