This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will lead Department of Defense and Joint Staff assessments of interactions between U.S. and other nations' aircraft, provide updates to senior leaders, and direct the activities of analysts in supporting these efforts. This includes daily interaction with multiple Combatant Commands, intelligence community members, and directorates within the Joint Staff

Duties

As a PROGRAM ANALYST (REACTIONS ANALYSES) at the GS-0343-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Develops, coordinates, and staffs with CCMDs, Military Service and JRCs the circumstances and events surrounding reactions to airborne ISR missions Leads the Department of Defense and Joint Staff assessments of interactions between the U.S. and other nations. Plans, organizes, and carries through to completion analytical studies involving one of the primary interactions between the United States and our adversaries, reactions and intercepts to U.S. aircraft sorties Serves as the matrix team leader responsible for assigning segments of studies to various participants, coordinating the efforts of the group, and consolidating findings into a completed product ( e.g., evaluation report, proposed changes in legislation or regulations, or recommended course of action). Provides expert knowledge on aerial/airborne ISR reactions, working with other directorates on planning, crisis action and steady-state activities

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS- 14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Evaluates Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) reactions, to include experience with ISR operations, platforms, sensors, and supporting architectures, along with in-depth knowledge of reaction behavior and interrelationships to perform assigned coordination, review of issues, status tracking, and briefings as Subject Matter Expert advisor; Coordinates joint actions across CCMD and Military Service Staffs to perform varied analytical assignments associated with tracking status, reporting on issues, and developing plans for higher level review and approval; Generates and conducts detailed analysis of CCMD ISR operations and reactions data to develop and identify patterns affecting ISR operations; Plans, schedules and conducts projects and studies to develop new or modified methods, organizational structures, records and files, management processes, staffing patterns, procedures for administering program services, guidelines and procedures and automating work processes for the conduct of administrative support functions or program operations in support of airborne ISR reactions Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
