This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14. You will serve as a TEAM LEAD in the Travel Branch of the Employee Services Division of CARDEROCK DIV NS.

Duties

You will develop and provide training for the Travel team. You will work with the other leads on issues related to travel. You will serve as Primary Travel Interface with Accounting, NAVSEA, NEBO, HR, NAVSUP, and DFAS. You will ensure quality and timely customer service in response to questions regarding travel. You will be responsible for briefing and providing metrics to the Employee Services Division Head of all statuses and/or issues in the areas of travel. You will be responsible for communicating the team's assignments, projects, and problems to be solved. You will ensure a balanced workload among the team, management of task assignments, tracking of workflow completion, matching tasks with team members' skill level, making adjustment to team members' tasks. You will train or arrange for the training of team in methods and techniques of working as a team to accomplish tasks and projects. You will write and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), desktop guides, methods and branch policies and serve as the point of contact for these documents. You will prepare reports and maintain a record of work accomplishments made by the team related to the travel process.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level III certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-4 (GS-11/12 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience analyzing and evaluating travel data and transactions to identify and recommend adjustments or improvements in financial programs related to effectiveness and efficiency. Financial Administration and Program Series 0501 Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
