This position is located in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), Policy, Communications, and Strategic Engagement Division (PCSE). The incumbent will lead the Policy, Communication, and Strategic Engagement Division, ensuring strategic alignment and cohesion across agency and component policies, grant strategies, and external communications and engagement efforts.

The duties and responsibilities for a 0301 Supervisory Policy Analyst generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Develops recommendations for policies that address domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, sex trafficking, and related issues. Oversees communications and outreach strategies to inform the public about organizational activities and grant opportunities. Supervises a small team of policy, communications, and outreach staff who work closely with OVW staff, OVW stakeholders, and colleagues across DOJ and other federal agencies. Advises and provides counsel to OVW and DOJ leadership on policy issues related to gender-based violence and related issues.

Requirements

  • You must be a United States Citizen or National.
  • You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
  • You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or two-year trial period.
  • Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Supervisory Policy Analyst (Deputy Director) at (GS-0301-15), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to. If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information). To qualify for the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or its non-Federal equivalent, which must include all of the following: Developing recommendations for organizational or public policy strategies that address domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, sex trafficking, or related issues. Overseeing communications or outreach strategies to inform the public about organizational activities or grant opportunities. Advising leadership on policy issues related to gender-based violence or related issues. You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including Time-in-Grade, by the closing date of this announcement, 01/03/2025. Education
