Duties
Please Note: Employees will be required to report to their assigned office location at least 2 day per week for non-supervisory positions and 3 days per week for supervisory/managerial positions unless the position advertised is designated as a remote-only position.
EXIM's Recent Graduates Program affords developmental experiences in the Federal Government intended to promote possible careers in the civil service to individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. Successful applicants are placed in a dynamic developmental program with the potential to lead to a civil service career in the Federal Government.
This position is in the Office of External Engagement under the supervision of the Vice President. The Office is responsible for administering EXIM's External Engagement Programs, including the planning of all EXIM's special events and outreach efforts to external customers, such as exporters, banks, and other interest groups, and where appropriate, including federal/ state/ local government agencies.
The incumbent is responsible for assisting with the management and engagement of stakeholder relationships, planning EXIM's annual conference and external events, and supporting the various EXIM advisory committees and councils.
This is a developmental position in which the full performance level is GS-12. As the incumbent progresses, he/she will receive assignments that:
- Require a higher level of knowledge
- Require less supervisory controls
- are progressively more complex.
Upon satisfactory meeting qualifications/performance requirements and at management's discretion, the incumbent may be advanced to the full performance level, GS-0301-12. It is the ability to demonstrate satisfactory performance at the higher level in all aspects of the position that is the primary basis for consideration for promotion. Meeting the qualification requirement for the higher-grade position does not automatically entitle the incumbent to promotion.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assists with planning, organizing, and executing EXIM-sponsored events including the Annual Conference, forums and roundtables, and customer site visits, as well as external events involving senior EXIM leadership.
Creates and updates databases, spreadsheets, and other administrative documents.
Serves as the Committee Management Officer for the Advisory Committee and Sub-Saharan Africa Advisory Committee, assists with outreach to committee and council members including arranging travel to meetings, supporting, meeting planning and logistics, and ensuring compliance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act.
Supports special projects as assigned, providing guidance and assistance to others working on projects impacting the agency.

Qualifications
Recent Graduate Eligibility:
Individuals who have obtained a qualifying Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, Professional, Doctorate, Vocational or Technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution, within the previous 2 years.
OR
Veterans (as defined in 5 U.S.C. 2108) who were unable to apply within 2 years of obtaining a qualifying Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, Professional, Doctorate, Vocational or Technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution due to their military service obligation. Veterans have a full 2-year eligibility period to apply upon his/her release or discharge from active duty. The eligibility period for veterans must be within 6 years of degree completion.
AND
In addition to the Recent Graduate and Basic Requirement Eligibilities noted above, applicants must also meet one of the following:
Specialized Experience (Credit for Specialized Experience on resume must reflect 40 hours/Full-time per week for each period of work): To qualify for the GS-09, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal Government or other equivalent pay systems. Specialized experience includes:
Experience preparing written and oral correspondence and reports for internal and external stakeholders;
Experience planning and executing events to inform and educate stakeholders about an organization's core mission and programs; and
Experience creating and updating databases, spreadsheets, and other administrative documents.
OR
Substitution of Education for Experience: You may substitute education for the specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level by possessing two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's degree or Master's or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
Combination of Experience and Education: Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the GS-07 grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at the GS-09 grade level. Therefore, only education in excess of one full year of graduate level education may be used to combine education and experience.

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements if you can show that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States. receive at least 40 hours of formal training and on-the-job training directly linked to your employment field;
be assigned a mentor;
sign a Pathways Recent Graduates' Participant Agreement and execute an Individual Development Plan outlining training requirements and program expectations; and
serve a trial period for one year under an excepted service appointment
Recent Graduates who satisfactorily complete the Pathways Recent Graduates Program and meet all eligibility requirements for conversion may be non-competitively converted to a Term or Permanent appointment in the competitive service.
