You will serve as a Financial Technician in the NAVAL ACADEMY.
Duties
You will ensure all expenditures are made in accordance with laws and regulations.
You will gather and organize financial information to be used for responses to inquiries and audits (audit readiness data calls).
You will use automated databases to input and/or adjust financial information (e.g. funds distribution, reconciliation, financial transactions, document preparation).
You will reconcile automated financial data to resolve issues by using Navy-ERP, PIEE, DTS.
Requirements

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications
For the GS-08
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector : 1) Prepare funding documents to support project objectives/financial functions; 2) Document accounting balances on available financial data; 3) Maintain accounting documents to identify changes; and 4) Perform accounts maintenance to ensure accuracy of financial information. For the GS-07
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Reconcile accounting or budgetary data by use of an automated financial system; 2) Review cost data to provide input to management; 3) Monitor data for discrepancies using financial management system; and 4) Review information to create financial reports.
