About the Position: This position is with the 88th Readiness Division, Engineer Division, Directorate of Public Works (DPW) located at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. The Directorate of Public Works is a regionally aligned organization focused on providing efficient and timely Facility Operations, Real Property Management, Engineering and Environmental support for all facilities and real property within the RD region in support of unit training, administration, and readiness operations.

Duties

Manage, monitor, and coordinate applicable environmental laws, regulations policies, and procedures in support of the Army, Army Reserve, and 88th RD environmental strategies. Prepare, justify, and administer the Division’s budget requirements necessary to request and receive required program funding. Establish and continuously monitor Environmental Division internal controls and quality assurance policies and procedures. Manage environmental programs/projects by determining tasks and developing performance work statements. Analyze and determine the environmental impact of projects submitted into the DPW Work Control Center. Conduct Environmental Division Staff Assistance Visits and inspections to ensure integration of comprehensive environmental protection responsibilities and training. Communicate through oral briefings, written documents, workshops, training sessions and/or public hearings to explain environmental requirements. Perform the duties of a Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for the Environmental Division.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing environmental programs, evaluating work practices to determine compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations; and preparing a variety of environmental reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Environmental Management or Natural Resources Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
