This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent provides leadership, guidance, and direction for a portfolio of professional training curriculums and instructional services that fall under the purview of the SJS/AD training program. This position serves as the Chief, Joint Staff Training Program (JSTP) with oversight of the Joint Staff's training activities in two geographic locations (Joint Staff-Pentagon and Joint Staff-Suffolk, Virginia).
Duties
As a TRAINING ADMINISTRATOR at the GS-1712-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Establish and maintain relationships across the Joint Staff critical to developing and maintaining comprehensive instructional programs.
Collaborates with Joint Staff Directorates to ensure JSTP courses address the timely flow of information across the DoD enterprise.
Works closely with and represents JSTP's interests with governmental agencies, professional organizations, subject-matter experts, instructors, and customers, as well as a broad cross-section of internal Joint Staff stakeholders.
Oversees a variety of programs, services, and activities that include the following: Training Planning and Management, Action Officers Training Program, Military Secretariat (MilSec) Training Program, Senior Leader Training Program, Plain Writing Program, JSTP Administration, Joint Training Center (JTC) Management and Contracting Officers' Representative (COR).

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Authoritative consultant that plans and develops experimental programs, evaluates results, and uses the findings in planning, developing, and installing new or modified programs
Provide initial and sustainment training, and continuous assistance and guidance
Develop or review training materials, to include methods of delivery
Advise senior leadership regarding needs-based workforce training
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
