About the Position: Serve as Accounting Technician for the Directorate of Religious Support Operations (RSO) at Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM). Primary responsibilities and duties are in the management, accounting, and processing of Non-Appropriated funds, Appropriated Funds, the Defense Travel System (DTS), and Ministry Coordination.
Duties
Generate and process religious services Detailed Income Record (DIR) for receipt and accounting of weekly Chapel Tithes and Offerings
Provide support to congregations through the chaplain pastors, congregational leaders, and other contractors in the Religious Support Office.
Provide support to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) in the oversight, financial management, and reporting of appropriated funds contracts.
Manage files according to Rapid Sustainment Office (RSO) systems of record and knowledge management standards
Requirements
- Appointment is subject to a background investigation including a credit check to determine suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required up to 5%.
- Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies and employees to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest. This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter.
- Must be able to complete the CRM Course and CTOF Technician Course through the US Army Chaplaincy Center and School (USACHCS).
- THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 1 Certified position. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includesanalyzing financial reports to identify collection and/or disbursement discrepancies and recommend corrective measures and experience applying accounting policies, procedures, and techniques. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as accounting or financial management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages.
