Duties

Provide policy guidance and direction for the accomplishment of all mission support functions and services in accordance with broad goals and objectives. Supervises civilian chiefs of the following functions: Administration, Training, Airfields Operations, Air Traffic and Airspace, and Air Traffic Control. Practice internal position management for the efficient, effective, and economical use of personnel resources. Oversee all aspects of deployment/redeployment at Lawson Army Airfield Aerial Port of Embarkation (APOE). Make decisions on non-routine, costly, or controversial aviation needs and requests related to the directorate, Installation military units and guard/reserve component units that train on Ft. Moore. Perform constant surveillance, in-depth technical studies, analyses, and extensive management to respond to the changes and demands placed on the Directorate.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • The director may travel on military and commercial aircraft as necessary.
  • The director may be required to work overtime.
  • The director may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies and employees to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Providing policy guidance and direction; 2) Supervising civilian chiefs of the following functions: airfield operations, air traffic and airspace, and air traffic control, 3) Making decisions on non-routine, costly, or controversial avaoation needs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
