Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:
Small Business Self Employed Campus Collection Operations
The following are the duties of this position at the full working level.
Receives shipments of diverse types of mail and other items delivered to the IRS office and moves to a designated supply area.
Unpacks cardboard cartons by hand or using simple hand tools.
Stacks boxes to ensure they are kept in appropriate order.
As directed and as time permits, may assist in moving office furniture and equipment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Ability to follow simple instructions.
Ability to frequently lift and carry light and moderate weight objects such as cartons of IRS forms.
Awareness of safety procedures to recognize and report workplace hazards.
Ability to use simple tools as required to move cartons, furniture and equipment, to open boxes and to stock shelves.
Qualifications
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: WG-01: To be eligible for this position at this grade level, you must meet the requirements below: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. To be qualifying your experience should demonstrate the following:
Able to perform manual tasks such as receiving shipments, pulling files contained in boxes, and moving and stacking boxes. Able to follow simple instructions, to frequently lift and carry light and moderate weight objects such as cartons of forms. Have awareness of safety procedures to recognize and report workplace hazards. Able to use simple tools as required to move cartons, furniture and equipment, to open boxes and to stock shelves.
Physical Requirement: Must be able to frequently lift and carry light and medium weight objects such as cartons that weigh up to approximately 30 pounds. Able to frequently walk, bend, stoop and reach.
AND
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: By the closing date (or if this is an open continuous announcement, by the cut-off date) specified in this job announcement, current civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest non-temporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate, known as time after competitive appointment.
