The primary purpose of the position is to perform laboring duties that require moderately heavy physical effort and may involve the use of common hand tools and power equipment. In order to accomplish their duties the incumbent must also operate light duty motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds (such as pick-up trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks, etc…) to transport personnel, material, or equipment to work sites located on the park.
Duties
Operates light duty motor vehicles such as pickup trucks, panel trucks, vans, and sedans, and machinery such as lawn mowers, brush chippers, and snow blowers.
Operates power tools such as chain saws, pole saws, circular saws, drills, string trimmers, leaf blowers, and jack hammers.
Perform operator-level checks and maintenance (fluids, tire pressure, blade sharpening) on vehicles, equipment, and power and hand tools.
Lifts and moves objects weighing up to 50 pounds and carries objects weighing between 80 and 100 pounds.
Performs janitorial tasks that include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and applying disinfectant chemicals.
