You will serve as a FACILITY OPERATIONS SPECIALIST in the SAFETY DEPARTMENT (N45) of STRIKE FIGHTER WING LANT.

Duties

You will assist in the planning and execution of command specific installation military construction (MILCON), special projects, and in-fiscal year projects to include master plans, programs, design, construction, demolition, and disposal. You will assist in coordination of planning for MILCON including review, revision, and submission of various standard shore facilities planning. You will assist in coordinating planning for programming system documents (DD1391 basic facilities requirements (BFR), facilities planning document, backlog of maintenance and repair). You will identify and develop project requirements to include preliminary plans, specifications, and cost estimates. You will assist in the development and update to the BFR for the command and inspection of components and all the other work operations under their cognizance while enforcing compliance with new and ongoing MILCON projects.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station in CONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to complete an accredited Site Security Manager (SSM) training.

Qualifications

To qualify for a GS-12, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience planning, implementing, and coordinating project management activities for multiple facility construction projects to ensure technical, physical, procedural and transit security elements are addressed. Experience exhibiting an In-depth working knowledge of reading system building plans, ICD 705 Standards, and all affiliated references as well as be qualified to act as a Site Security Manager (SSM) for multiple projects. Experience demonstrating the ability to investigate and analyze practices, identify problems, and recommend/initiate effective improvements and solutions. Experience evaluating the impact of numerous variables such as budget/costs, personnel issues, administrative processes, and any other factors, on command's security programs. Experience utilizing knowledge of construction trades and operation procedures involved in facilities repair, architectural electrical, and mechanical and construction techniques. Experience demonstrating the ability to plan, organize, direct work, and negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations where the proposals involve extensive changes in established procedures.
