About the Position: Serves as a subject matter expert in the Army Community Service (ACS) Division for the Army Employment Readiness and Relocation Readiness Programs.
Duties
Participates in HQDA workgroups to develop Army guidance.
Oversees the development of a self-assessment tool to be used by the ACS centers component-wide to conduct employment and relocation self-evaluation prior to formal certification.
Coordinates policy changes with appropriate Army and DoD staff activities.
Makes recommendations on identified trends and changes that impact on Army program development and implementation.
Implements policies and standardized guidelines component-wide for the Employment and Relocation Readiness Programs.
Analyzes and adapts information from current academic, military, and business research in the area of employment support and relocation services to enhance the Army's programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

Basic Requirement for Employment and Relocation Program Specialist:
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes ensuring programs conform to all applicable federal regulations and standards in the fields of employment readiness and outreach/community organization. Providing technical assistance to other Army staff activities in developing their regulatory policy and guidance materials related to family member employment and relocation readiness. Formulating program goals and objectives to provide support for employment and relocation services to enhance the Army's programs.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes assisting implementing policies and standardized guidelines component-wide for the Employment and Relocation Readiness Programs. Providing technical assistance to other Army staff activities in developing their regulatory policy and guidance materials related to family member employment and relocation readiness.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
