This is an office-centered position*--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis (location TBD after candidate selected).*EPA offers work-from-home and work schedule flexibilities as described in the Benefits section.

Qualifications
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level defined as classifying a variety of federal General Schedule (GS) positions in accordance with Office of Personnel Management (OPM) rules and regulations; and providing classification assistance to managers.
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level defined as independently providing advice and recommendations to management and/or hiring officials on federal position classification policies, procedures, and rules; classifying Senior Executive Service (SES) positions and/or classifying positions up to and including the GS-15 level in accordance with OPM rules and regulations.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of federal position classification standards, policies, and procedures.
Ability to develop and conduct professional trainings for both individuals and groups.
Ability to provide substantive and accurate guidance and feedback to lower-graded specialists as well as senior management.
Skill in the attention to detail sufficient to conduct accurate and timely quality assurance activities and provide quality assurance reports.
Skill in the interpretation and implementation of legislative, regulatory, and agency policy guidance regarding classification.
Skill in project management.
Knowledge of Agency and OPM classification policies and assessment policies.
Skill in oral communication.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
